Winter 2012/ Winter 2013

This project was designed to use proxy servers and APIs in order to build a web data visualizer. My assignment uses the top news and team news rss feeds provided by NFL.com to get the lastest, and team specific, news. This was a great introduction to the parsing capabilities of AS3, both with RSS and XML. In addition to a Flash application, this has also been configured to work on Android machines.

NFL News Reader, in Winter 2013, was also redesigned for iOS, after I learned Objective-C.

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Evan Vaughn, and I'm a fourth year New Media Interactive Development student at RIT. I am passionate about all things web - from back-end database construction to front-end user interface and experience. When I'm not coding, I like to spend my time adding songs to my playlists on Spotify, running, or looking up different effective gym workouts. I've got a bit of a soft spot for design, too.
